We are creating a graphic novel that brings to life the stories of nuns and their communities during the Reformation in Northern Germany. At a time of change, these women faced difficult choices, defended their independence, and found ways to make their voices heard. Drawing on real historical sources, we reimagine their experiences though a blend of powerful storytelling and vibrant illustration. With “Breaking Walls”, we want to make history vivid, accessible, and thought-provoking—showing how women’s agency shaped religious life in a time of transformation.

Disclaimer
Liability for Content
The contents of our pages were created with the greatest care. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the contents. As a service provider, we are responsible for our own content on these pages according to general laws pursuant to § 7(1) TMG. According to §§ 8–10 TMG, however, we are not obligated as a service provider to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate unlawful activity. Obligations to remove or block the use of information under general laws remain unaffected. Liability in this regard is, however, only possible from the moment we become aware of a specific legal violation. If we become aware of corresponding legal violations, we will remove such content immediately.
Liability for Links
Our offer contains links to external third-party websites over whose content we have no control. Therefore, we cannot assume any liability for these external contents. The respective provider or operator of the linked pages is always responsible for their content. The linked pages were checked for possible legal violations at the time the link was created. Unlawful content was not recognizable at that time. A permanent content check of linked pages is not reasonable without concrete evidence of a legal violation. If we become aware of legal violations, we will remove such links immediately.
Copyright
The content and works created by the site operators on these pages are subject to German copyright law. Reproduction, editing, distribution, and any kind of use outside the limits of copyright law require the written consent of the respective author or creator. Downloads and copies of this page are permitted only for private, non-commercial use.
Where the content on this site was not created by the operator, the copyrights of third parties are respected. In particular, third-party content is marked as such. Should you nevertheless become aware of a copyright infringement, please inform us accordingly. If we become aware of legal violations, we will remove such content immediately.

Scope
Users receive with this privacy policy information regarding the type, scope, and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the responsible provider.
The legal framework for data protection is provided by the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).
Collection of General Information
With every access to this offer, information is automatically collected by us or the webspace provider. This information, also known as server log files, is general in nature and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your identity.
Collected data include, among other things: name of the website, file, date, amount of data, web browser and version, operating system, the domain name of your internet provider, the so-called referrer URL (the page from which you accessed our offer), and the IP address.
Without this data, it would partly not be technically possible to deliver and display the website content. In this respect, the collection of these data is absolutely necessary. Furthermore, we use the anonymous information for statistical purposes. They help us optimize the offer and the technology. We also reserve the right to subsequently check the log files if there is suspicion of unlawful use of our offer.
Contact Form
If you contact us via the online form or by e-mail, we store the information you provide in order to respond to your inquiry and to ask any follow-up questions.
Integration of Third-Party Services and Content
Our offer includes — in some cases — content, services, and performances of other providers. These include, for example, maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube, as well as graphics and images from other websites. To fetch and display these data in the user’s browser, the transmission of the IP address is necessary. Thus, the providers (hereinafter “third-party providers”) receive the IP address of the respective user.
Even if we strive to use only third-party providers that require the IP address solely to deliver content, we have no influence on whether the IP address might be stored. This process may serve statistical purposes, among others. If we are aware that the IP address is being stored, we will inform our users.
Cookies
This website uses so-called cookies—text files that are stored on your computer by the server. They contain information about the browser, the IP address, the operating system, and the internet connection. This data is not passed on to third parties nor linked with personal data without your consent.
Cookies primarily serve two purposes: they help us make navigation through our offer easier for you, and they ensure that the website is displayed correctly. They are not used to introduce viruses or to launch programs.
Users may also access our offer without cookies. To do so, the appropriate browser settings must be changed. Please consult your browser’s help function to learn how to disable cookies. We note, however, that disabling cookies may limit certain functions of this website and reduce ease of use.
The pages aboutads.info/choices (USA) and youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices (Europe) allow you to manage online advertising cookies.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files stored on your computer that enable analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Due to the activation of IP anonymization on these pages, your IP address will, however, be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide the website operator with further services related to website and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by changing your browser settings. We note, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all functionalities of this website to their full extent.
You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) and its processing by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: Browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.
More information on terms of use and data protection can be found at google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and google.de/intl/de/policies.
Facebook Social Plugin
We integrate plug-ins of the social network Facebook into our websites. You can recognize the plug-ins—an overview can be found at developers.facebook.com/docs/Plug-ins/—by the Like button or the Facebook logo.
When you access a page of our website containing a Facebook plug-in, a direct connection to Facebook is established. We have no influence on the type and extent of data collected, stored, or processed by Facebook. We can only inform you based on our current knowledge.
Facebook is informed through the plug-in that you have accessed the corresponding page of our offer. This also applies to users who are not registered with Facebook. In this case, Facebook may store the IP address.
If you are a Facebook member and logged in, accessing a page with a Facebook plug-in can be clearly assigned to your Facebook user account. Additionally, the plug-ins transmit all interactions—for example, if you use the Like button or leave a comment.
To prevent Facebook from storing data about you, please log out of Facebook before visiting our websites. You can also block the plug-ins using browser add-ons (e.g., “Facebook Blocker”).
Information about Facebook’s privacy policy, the purpose and scope of data collection and processing, and settings to protect your privacy can be found at facebook.com/privacy/explanation.php.
Data Minimization
We store personal data only as long as necessary or as required by law (legal storage periods), following the principles of data avoidance and data minimization. When the purpose for storing the information ceases to apply or the storage period expires, we block or delete the data.
Your Rights to Information, Correction, Blocking, Deletion, and Objection
Upon request, you have the right to receive free information about the personal data stored by us, and/or to request correction, blocking, or deletion—unless data storage is required for business processing or the data is subject to a legal retention obligation.
For these purposes, please contact our data protection officer (contact information at the beginning of the privacy policy).
To ensure a data block can be respected at any time, it is necessary to keep the data in a block file for control purposes. If there is no legal archiving requirement, you may also request deletion. Otherwise, we will block the data at your request.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
To ensure that our privacy policy always complies with current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. The same applies if the privacy policy must be modified due to new or revised services, e.g., new service offerings. The new privacy policy will then apply at your next visit to our offer.
